Favorite Wedding Photography Blog: Jasmine Star

There are some great wedding photographers out there, and many of them have some beautiful blogs.  But my very favorite is the blog of Jasmine Star!

Jasmine's blog is so genuine, funny, authentic, and showcases her beautiful work but also includes personal stories that make me think we should be BFF's. I'm totally a geeky fan of hers.  Here are some of my all-time faves of Jasmine's work:

Carlie & Gabriel's engagement

And Carlie and Gabriel's day after shoot

Stephanie & Stephen's engagement...

And their wedding (I loved the detail shots of this wedding!)

Brandon & Kristin's wedding

Did I mention what a huge fan I am of Jasmine's work?!  I could keep posting favorites all day.  And how gorgeous are the couples she photographs, by the way.  Thanks Jasmine, for the beautiful inspiration!

Love for All Ages

I spotted this adorable feature over at Green Wedding Shoes of two of the cutest little ones, and they are in love!  How cute is this "love" shoot of Gracie (age 3) and Zeke (age 4):

Simple & Lovely Engagement Shoot

The girls at Love and Lavender have done it again!  They posted one of my favorite engagement shoots ever.  Free from props (except those genius equation cutouts made by the groom-to-be, which I love) the shoot is about the couple, the love, and the scenery.  And the amazing photography.  LOVE!

Down the Rabbit Hole

One of my favorite stories as a child was Alice in Wonderland.  Food and drink that makes you grow big or small, a hookah-smoking caterpillar, a rabbit that is always late, not to mention a cheshire cat (what exactly IS a cheshire cat?), and celebrating un-birthdays...what's not to love!?  So needless to say, I am giddy to an embarrassing degree about the new Tim Burton film adaptation of Alice in Wonderland (out 3/5 in 3D...Hello!!!).  I'm sure it will be a tribute to the "curiouser and curiouser."

In anticipation, I thought an inspiration board would be fun.  I have to admit I started seeing a couple on other blogs after I had decided to make one, but that will not deter my Alice spirit!

Middle Row:  Cake photo by Rodney Bailey, invitation by Bird and Banner, mismatched plates via Pretty Little Things and Snippet & Ink, invitation by Ritzy Bee Events
Bottom Row:  Croquet picture via Snippet & Ink, party photo from Plum Party, red banquet photo by Arnhemsmeisje and cards from Martha Stewart Weddings, both via Ritzy Bee

I also love this 2003 Vogue Alice in Wonderland fashion editorial shoot by the incredible Annie Leibovitz.  If this is what happens when you go down the rabbit hole, someone push me!

UPDATE!
Check out this amazing Alice in Wonderland themed party here at Amy Atlas's blog.  LOVE it!

Beautiful Florals

I had to post these amazing florals I found on The Bride's Cafe last week...they are too good not to share!  Arranged by Janie Medley of TBC, and shot by Katie Stoop of Open Air Photography, they are like a spring dream.  This would be the perfect inspiration for a spring wedding bouquet.  That peony has motivate me to create an inspiration board that I'll be posting later this week.  Check out some of the photos here and head over to the full feature to see the rest.

Simple Saturday

Grow old along with me
The best is yet to be
When our time has come
We will be as one
God bless our love
God bless our love
Grow old along with me
Two branches of one tree
Face the setting sun
When the day is done
God bless our love
God bless our love
Spending our lives together
Man and wife together
World without end
World without end
Grow old along with me
Whatever fate decrees
We will see it through
For our love is true
God bless our love
God bless our love

Simple Saturday

Sometimes I see a single photograph that I just love or am completely inspired by.  In an effort to dislocate my laptop from my lap on the weekends and spend more time having fun with my husband, I am going to start posting one every Saturday in lieu of a full post.  They might be photos a friend has taken, or that I took myself, or that I have found from one of my favorite blogs.  Today I am posting one of my favorite photos from one of my favorite photgraphers.
