Sartorially Inspired

I adore The Sartorialist blog. Scott Shuman, the man behind the machine, has a pretty darn close to perfect eye for capturing unique looks in the perfect light, and I check out his blog for street-style inspiration every day. Today, I found an Italian take on boho, titled “On the Street... Gloria, Florence.” Her top reminded me of a little Karta blouse (on sale!) and her skirt a ruffled Thayer number. Add a studded Betsey Johnson handbag to the mix and some Converse by John Varvatos sneaks, and I’ve almost got it. The finishing touch? Layers of necklaces and bracelets, naturally. The whole look has me feeling a little more Italy-in-the-summertime chic already.

Sweet Meets Sophisticated

The upside of being hung-over and sofa-ridden on a Sunday? Finally having the opportunity to break open the collector's edition Sex and the City boxed set we received last Christmas. And after eight-plus rejuvenating hours of quality time with Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha, we were back to our old selves, craving Thai food and a wardrobe of flirty-yet-fashion-forward styles fit for lunch dates with dashing moguls and ladies' nights out. Fortunately for us, our favorite designers are in a similar frame of mind this spring. We're snapping up unabashedly feminine dresses from Catherine Malandrino, reinterpreted, '60s modern styles from Karta, and sweetly polished tops from Mint. Now all we need is a little arm candy. (Hear that, Jason Lewis?) Flirty looks for city girls? Find them right here, at shopbop.
