Every time I saw a lovely dress displayed in a boutique or shop, I always think twice in buying it. I think it's not practical to buy a dress that I can only wear on once-in-a-blue-moon occasions. Oftentimes, I ended up with denims because they are wearable any time.

Latest Style Obsession: Plaits

There are many reasons why I am currently in love with braids. Its mainly the fact that you can wear them in so many different ways and that each style looks fresh, feminine and oh so effortless.
I will let the photos do the talking though: Kate in her super cute plaits and daisy chains
We Heart It (I am addicted to this sight. Especially now they have sorted themselves out and improved the layout!)
Another We Heart It find
The beautiful Chloe Sevigny, love her bohemian style plaits.
We Heart It once again- If anyone knows the original sources though let me know!
A brilliant illustration from the artist Elisabeth Moch

Fashion Toast's simple yet cool plait

Braid beauty special in Bogue Taiwan, this hair do is awesome!
And of course they were also seen on the runways- Luella AW 09 had Pippi Longstocking style hyper plaits
Whereas Alexander Wang's spring summer 2010 ready to wear had loose, relaxed and breezy braids
The lovely Karlie Kloss backstage at A Wang.

I hope you have found these images as inspiring as I do...

Modern Bombshell: This Seasons Sophisticated Sexiness Puts the Focus on Fit

After so much blousy this and billowy that, it seems a little structure is in order. The solution? Make like a femme fatale in fashion-forward, formfitting pieces that hearken back to a time when styles showcased the feminine silhouette instead of obscuring it. Start with retro-chic bodysuits, couture-meets-punk pieces from Alexander Wang and LaROK, and skinny jeans so tight they could stand in for leggings. Because as we see it, if we're putting in the time on the Pilates Reformer, we might as well show off the results. Body-conscious styles fit for a modern bombshell? Find 'em right here, at shopbop.

First Fashion: Our Favorites from What's New

We’re in the middle of a heat wave. So why am I humming Jingle Bells and acting like Christmas in July actually exists? Because we’ve got loads of fur-trimmed, cozy newcomers in What’s New.
Juicy’s Snow Zip Quilted Cuff Boot has a fetching wedge heel and comfy sherpa lining.
Lighter weight, but still appropriate for cool temperatures, this 3/4 sleeve coat from Juicy has a detachable faux fur collar and cheeky logo buttons.
I’m a sucker for furry angora, and I love the cropped sleeves on this cardigan from Alexander Wang.
A/C not cutting it? Imagine you’re in an igloo, with a little help from shopbop.

First Fashion: Our Favorites from What's New

Elegant yet edgy, fashion-forward yet wearable, luxe yet laid-back: Alexander Wang single-handedly crystallized the downtown aesthetic I adore in his fall 2008 runway show. And now the pieces I lost my mind over at fashion week last February are finally here. (Hooray!) Wanna see what I’ve snapped up so far?
If the classic pea coat went to art school? It might look something like this. Alexander Wang Topstitched Pea Coat
And a little something to wear now. The essential tank gets the Alexander Wang treatment. Alexander Wang Tank Top
Exquisite, artsy embroidery makes an otherwise understated piece feel special. Alexander Wang Embroidered Tank
Straight-off-the-runway Alexander Wang and so much more? Find it here, in What’s New.

W’s Sublime Summer Camp

I finally had a chance to look through my July issue of W this weekend, and the brilliant Bruce Weber photo story immediately caught my eye. The question: What would happen if a flock of new designers hit the road for a summer adventure with a handful of top models? The answer: Lazy days filled with beautiful people in exquisite clothes. W and Mr. Weber showed off their fashion power, bringing together the hottest young names in the industry – Alexander Wang, Laura and Kate Mulleavy of Rodarte, Georgina Chapman of Marchesa, the ubiquitous Ms. Moss – for a class picture of fashion’s future, and some “candid” shots that suggest just a hint of sublime debauchery.

This is one summer camp I’d love to attend.

Our Must-Have Look of the Moment

We may not be catwalkers hot off the resort runways, but with a little inspiration from Alexander Wang, we can look like we are. The formula is simple: blazer + white tee + cutoffs. Add to that a little devil-may-care attitude and we've got a model-off-duty look to rival the top of the top models. It's the must-have look of the moment, and you can find it at shopbop.
