I'm traveling yet another weekend, this time for my own baby shower! So here is some shower inspiration to last until I return- it was designed as a bridal shower but would be totally cute for a baby shower too. Love the button detail on the cake!

DIY Mini Paper Parasols
Spotted over at Frenchie and Flea, this DIY project is adorable and super simple. I think it would be fun for a summer party, bridal or baby shower, or even for a wedding. Or, you know, a Thursday afternoon drink at home!
This project was created by A Field Journal. For the full instructions and free download, go here!

Chanel Inspired Bridal Shower: The Inspiration
I was very honored to be a part of a collaboration of amazing talent in working on a vintage Chanel inspired bridal shower shoot. Photographed by the phenomenal Jasmine Star, I think it turned out to be nothing less than girly perfection! And to top it off, it was featured yesterday on Style Me Pretty!
I am going to post on this all week, so today I wanted to focus on the inspiration for the shoot. The very generous Jasmine Star introduced me to the super talented Jaclyne of Heavenly Blooms. We worked together to create the inspiration and ideas behind the shoot. I sadly could not be at the shoot myself because of a conflict with my day job, so I was not able to contribute as much as I wanted to, but I think the ladies pulled off the shoot beautifully!
Check back for more posts throughout the week, and until then check out the feature on Style Me Pretty. And here is the inspiration board that started it all:
Top Row: Florals from Flowerwild via The Bride's Cafe, Belle Fleur via The Bride's Cafe, Chanel Perfume via Snippet & Ink, mirrors via DecorPad
Middle Row: Invitation from Laura Hooper Calligraphy, necklaces via Snippet & Ink, macarons via Baked Blog
Bottom Row: Bouquet from Martha Stewart Weddings, room via DecorPad, pearls from J.Crew, gown from Dolly Couture

My bridal shower + Our giveaway winner!
Two of my bridesmaids threw me an amazing bridal shower last summer, and because there were such pretty details, I wanted to share it.
I did a bridal shower / bachelorette party combo weekend in Chicago last July. I used to live in Chicago and it is still my favorite place with my best friends, so it was only fitting that my bachelorette would take place there.
My shower was at an adorable restaurant called Jane's Restaurant in Chicago's Bucktown neighborhood. The style and decor of the place were so me! And the food, florals, and favors (by Tilde Designs) were amazing!

The Details
Eating, gift opening, and the ladies writing cards that my husband and I will get on each wedding anniversary (love that idea!)
With my mom, all the ladies in my family, my two awesome bridesmaids, and my girlfriends!
